Have a safe and happy summer!

Angie Klein Retiring: Kindergarten teacher Angie Klein is retiring after 18 years teaching at Bryant. The dedication, kindness, and enthusiasm Mrs. Klein shared with each of her Kindergarten classes will be sorely missed. We wish you the very best in retirement, Mrs. Klein, and thank you for sharing your talents with Bryant students!

PLTW Bryant Wrap-Up: Make sure you read about how Project Lead The Way wrapped up the year in Bryant classrooms. Thank you Ms. Dawson, our awesome PLTW teacher!

Back-To-School "Popsicles on the Playground" - Bryant/Pattengill families, please mark your calendars for our back-to-school event on Wednesday, August 31 (tentative), 4-6pm on the Bryant Playground. Come out to see classmates old and new, visit with the principals, and share a frozen treat! Several members of the Bryant/Pattengill teaching staff will be available to meet and greet families. We look forward to seeing you in August, to kick off another great school year!

Can You Assist with P.O.P.? If you're willing to serve popsicles or water at the "Popsicles on the Playground" back-to-school event, please sign up here. Teenagers welcome to serve, as well. You will be contacted in late August with more details. Thank you!

4th Grade Families: Save the Date for 5th Grade Camp Next November - Time is flying and your soon-to-be 5th Grader will have the opportunity to attend the 5th Grade overnight camp trip to Howell Nature Center on November 9-11, 2016. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to experience camp, form bonds with other students, and make memories that will last a lifetime! The success of camp relies on adult volunteers to chaperone. Based on the current numbers for this class, we anticipate we will need approximately 6-7 male chaperones, 4-5 female chaperones, and 1 medical chaperone, so please start thinking about if you can volunteer. Estimated cost will be $155.00 per student and we are fully committed to ensuring that all students have equal access to this trip regardless of their ability to pay. Look out for more information about the trip as well as applications for chaperones and camperships in the fall. The staff at Pattengill is very excited to offer this trip every year for our 5th grade students. Questions? Contact Barb Zimdars, 5th Grade Camp Chair, at

Many Thanks´┐ŻTo Shannon Kotre and Pattengill P.E. teacher, Ms. Knoll, who organized a terrific Field Day for the students at Pattengill last Friday. The event couldn't have happened without the help of our many parent volunteers, so we thank the many people who made Pattengill Field Day possible!

Also, to Deborah Paul-McDonald for chairing today's 5th Grade Promotion event, as well as to the other 5th grade parents who contributed time and resources to putting the event together and to the parents of 4th graders who will assist at the event. Thanks to all of these parents' efforts, this will be a very special and memorable event for our Bryant/Pattengill 5th graders and their families!

Fundraising Thank-You's: Several B/P parents (and grandparent!) work behind-the-scenes to raise funds for our schools throughout the year. Thank you to Jean Powell (Box Tops for Education), Shannon Kotre (Great Lakes Scrip), Alicia Davis (Shopper Loyalty Program), and Larry Lage and Tod Tharp (Restaurant Days). Each of you helps our PTO to continue to serve our students and staff. Thank you!

Final Issue of Thursday Notes: This is the final edition of the Thursday Notes for this school year. The Thursday Notes will return again in September. The PTO thanks Ariel Hurwitz-Greene for the big job of keeping our B/P families informed all year!

Keep Collecting Box Tops for Education This Summer! Make sure you tell family and friends to keep clipping Box Tops for Education coupons over the summer, as a simple way to earn money for our schools. You may turn in any clipped coupons you have now into the drop boxes in each school's lobby by tomorrow. Otherwise, keep collecting them over the summer to submit in the fall. Each coupon means money for our schools - it really does add up! Thanks for clipping!
