Box Tops Due Next Friday (Feb. 24): It's Box Tops collection and submission time again. The final day for turning in your Box Tops is Friday, Feb. 24. We are lagging a bit behind our $1,000 goal for the year, so get your clipping scissors out and turn in your Box Tops to the wooden collection boxes located outside of the office at each school. Bring the Family to Buffalo Wild Wings for Restaurant Day: Come on out to B/P Restaurant Day this month at Buffalo Wild Wings (3150 Boardwalk Dr., near Briarwood Mall), from 11:00am-2:00am on Sunday, Feb. 26. Dine in or carry out, and 20% of your bill will be donated to the Bryant/Pattengill PTO. Please present flyer to your server. Questions? Contact Tod Tharp at todtharp@me.com.


Read-A-Thon: Our annual Read-A-Thon fundraiser will run from March 3-15. It's easy and FUN! Students ask friends and relatives to sponsor them for time spent reading. As they read, they will also earn raffle tickets for a chance to win small, daily prizes. The classroom with the highest average hours read per student at Bryant and Pattengill will each win a class party! Read-A-Thon is a major fundraiser for our paired schools, helping to fund field trips, assemblies, classroom supplies, and much more. Your child will be bringing a packet of materials home next week. Happy reading! We are in need of a few volunteers to visit classrooms and present the materials to the students. If you are interested, please sign up here. Questions? Event Sponsor Opportunities: If you are a business owner (or have a special connection with one) and are interested in sponsoring a B/P PTO event, please contact our Fundraising Coordinator, Amanda Shutko, at amanda.shutko@bryantpattengill.org. She will be pleased to share information about upcoming events, sponsorship opportunities, options in finding the right fit for your business' interests and capabilities, and the various ways the PTO can recognize your support to our 700+ school community! Many Thanks´┐Ż Thank you to Mrs. Deborah Joseph and Mrs. Dawn Blair for coordinating our annual N.A.A.P.I.D./Parent Involvement Day on Monday, and to ALL of our parents who participated in Bryant/Pattengill activities for the day! Thank you also to Mrs. Deb Schreck, Mrs. Michelle Bailey, all of the performers, and student and parent helpers for putting on Pattengill's 19th Annual Talent Show. With your lead, we were able to see our students' pawsome talent!


Interested In Seeing an A2 Symphony Orchestra Concert? Because of the generosity of the A2 Symphony Orchestra, there is an opportunity for some of our Bryant families to attend the Peter and the Wolf concert at the Michigan Theater on Sunday, April 9, at 4pm. If you are a family who receives free lunch, and you are interested in attending, please email Principal Heyward at heywardr@aaps.k12.mi.us. There will be three tickets per family and tickets are given on a first-come, first-served basis.


Help Wanted: Volunteer Opportunities:

Disability Awareness Workshop- Volunteers Needed on March 16! "Can you imagine what it would be like to push a wheelchair through the snow outside?" The Disability Awareness Workshop (DAW) is a one-day program to teach an empathetic understanding of physical, developmental, and learning disabilities. We are proud to once again offer this powerful experience for our 4th graders! This event is a chance to make a difference in your community. To staff this event, 23 parent volunteers are needed for our Pattengill workshop the morning of March 16. Volunteers are needed at several hands-on stations: vision, hearing, speech, learning disabilities, physical impairments, and building accessibility. No experience working with people with disabilities is necessary. Lunch is provided for all volunteers.
