Music Notes from Pattengill: We've been having a great time in music class so far this year, and now we are coming into the busy time of the year. Here's what's coming up for our students: March 15: Music Field trip — All 4th and 5th grade students will be going to Hill Auditorium to see the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra Youth Concert. It offers a great opportunity for the kids to see professional musicians playing here in Ann Arbor. There are several songs for which they will be singing and playing the recorder along with the orchestra. What great fun! March 21: 4th Grade Recorder concert, 7pm in the cafetorium. Our 4th graders get a chance to show off and let you see what we've been learning by playing the recorder so far this year. Come and hear about the history of the recorder, and learn about our Recorder Karate program. April 25: 3rd Grade Spring Sing, 7pm in the cafetorium. Our songs are about the great state of Michigan. Come learn about Michigan's history, geography, and other things that make Michigan great! Hope to see you there.

Read-A-Thon In Progress: Our annual Read-A-Thon fundraiser is underway! Students are busy reading and earning their raffle tickets for a chance to win small, daily prizes, as well as strive for a medal. The classroom with the highest average hours read per student at each school will win a class party! Please help your child ask friends and relatives to sponsor them for time spent reading, to contribute to this major fundraiser for our paired schools. The last day to turn in raffle tickets is Friday, March 17. All sponsor money is due by Monday, March 27. Thank you! Questions? Email us at readathon@bryantpattengill.org.

The Tappan Players Are Proud To Present Hello Dolly! Hello Dolly, the much-loved classic musical, will be performed FridaySunday, March 24-26. With a cast and crew of over 110 Tappan Middle School students, this musical is set in 1890's New York City and tells the tale of an outspoken, widowed matchmaker who decides she is the perfect match for her current client, a half-a-millionaire! Shows are at Tappan Middle School, 2251 E. Stadium Blvd. Tickets are $12 adult, $10 child/student and available at showtix4u.com and at the door.
