Please join us for our next restaurant night at Shake Shack on Tuesday, February, 10th!
The Bryant-Pattengill PTO is powered by families. Parents and guardians of a student at Bryant or Pattengill are already members of the PTO.
Whether you have an hour to spare, a special skill to share, or want to take on a leadership role, there are many ways to get involved. Every contribution makes a difference for our students.
Throughout the year, the Bryant-Pattengill PTO organizes a range of events, for which we need volunteers, including:
Fall Fun Run (October)
Science Olympiad (January - May)
Kindergarten Roundup (February)
Girls on the Run (March - May)
Book Fairs (typically February/March)
Teacher Appreciation Week (May)
Field Day (May)
Ice Cream Social (May)
Field Trip Chaperones (throughout the year - pay attention to your teacher’s weekly newsletters)
Most events include both committee members, who plan and organize the event, along with day-of volunteers. Both roles are essential! Some of our larger events that require many volunteers are the Fall Fun Run, Book Fairs, and Ice Cream Social.
Stay up-to-date on volunteer opportunities through the PTO newsletter and updates. Contact exec@bryantpattengill.org about specific events for which you would like to volunteer.
Every bit of volunteer power makes these events a success!
IMPORTANT: All volunteers must complete a Volunteer Background Check, which must be renewed each school year. It is a requirement before being able to volunteer. The form must be turned into the school's office along with a copy of your identification.
Room Parents play a key role in connecting families with classrooms and supporting teachers. Each classroom may have one or more Room Parents who work together as a team. Teachers share their specific needs, but Room Parents typically help with:
Coordinating volunteers for classroom activities
Organizing class parties
Helping with school-wide events
Coordinating optional teacher gifts
Room Parent sign up typically happens in August at Popsicles on the Playground. You are always welcome to reach out to your child’s teacher about getting involved with the classroom.
The PTO helps ensure every child feels supported and included by coordinating:
Food pantry restocking
Winter coats and clothing
Support for families experiencing housing insecurity
Holiday meals and gifts
These efforts rely on donations and volunteers throughout the year. Stay tuned for donation requests in November for the Thanksgiving Drive and December for our Snow Angels program. These opportunities are shared in the weekly Principal’s newsletter.
We are always looking for helping hands to maintain and care for the gardens at Bryant and Pattengill. No green thumb required! Contact exec@bryantpattengill.org about your interest.
PTO meetings are your chance to hear updates from school leadership, learn what the PTO is working on, and share your ideas. All families are welcome. PTO meetings are held virtually the first Wednesday of each month at 5:45pm. Add the meetings to your calendar through this link or visit the Bryant-Pattengill event calendar for the meeting link. We strive to keep meeting 60 minutes, but they occasionally do run longer.
